Ordinary people would definitely worry about being ambushed by a hidden enemy, but for members of the T1-level special forces, this is just a routine combat scenario they have faced countless times before.
Jason and Brock had been teammates for a very long time, they could understand each other solely through eye contact.
With his left hand holding the gun, Jason used his right hand to grasp the doorknob, and without needing to say a word, Brock automatically positioned himself by the door.
As Jason slowly pulled the door open, Brock immediately darted outside, directing the gun towards the left.
Although this was Long Zhan’s first time working with Bravo Team, during his two years in the Navy SEALs, he had already conducted dozens of indoor combat missions.
With only three people working together, Jason was responsible for pulling the door open and keeping the exit clear, Brock was tasked with rushing out to clear the left side, and Long Zhan's mission was very clear.
Following standard CQB protocol, Long Zhan would follow closely behind Brock, clearing the right side at almost the same time as Brock was clearing the left.
The hallway outside the door was completely empty, allowing them to spot any targets immediately.
As the last team member to leave, Jason had more time to decide how to proceed with the clearing, given that the outer hallway was already under control.
On Brock's side were a row of rooms, while the hallway to Long Zhan's right only led to the stairs going down to the first floor.
Jason processed the information in his mind and he already had a plan. He squeezed Brock's shoulder to signal him to move forward.
Brock immediately advanced, stopping in front of the first room’s door, keeping his gaze alert towards the front.
Only then did Jason squeeze Long Zhan's shoulder, signaling him to also move forward, while he temporarily took control of the stairs.
Long Zhan moved to the other side of the door that Brock was at, while continuing to keep his gun aimed at the stairs.
Then, he pressed the PTT twice to indicate that he was in position.
Receiving the signal, Jason turned his gun and approached the door directly, preparing to clear the room.
The alternating cooperation between the three seemed complex, but the entire process took less than three seconds.
The three of them, already well-versed in CQB operations, moved in perfect harmony, advancing in a very smooth manner.
With Brock and Long Zhan controlling both sides of the hallway, Jason could fully focus on breaking into the room.
For someone like Jason, who had been doing this for over a decade, it was as easy as drinking water.
There are two common methods for breaking into a room.
One emphasizes speed, using plastic explosives to blow the door open, or using breaching tools to quickly force entry, then kicking the door open and pushing in as quickly as possible.
The goal was to take the enemy by surprise, leaving those inside the room with no time to react.
This is also the most commonly used CQB method for clearing a room.
Unfortunately, it usually requires a team of four or more to execute smoothly. Attempting this method alone carries significant risks.
In Jason's case, he was alone, so he had to adopt a slower, more cautious room-clearing method.
He avoided the area directly in front of the door, pressing his body against the left side of the wall to prevent from being hit by any armed individuals inside when he first opened the door.
His right hand gripped the gun tightly, with the stock against his shoulder, his finger resting on the trigger, ready to fire at any moment.
This was a standard one-handed gun holding position.
His free left hand pressed against the door, gradually applying more force to push it inward.
Creeeak~
As the wooden door creaked, it began to slowly open.
Since Jason stood on the side of the door’s latch, he could see the situation inside the room through the widening gap.
In this scenario, even if someone inside had a gun and attempted to shoot at the door, they wouldn't be able to pose a threat to Jason, Long Zhan, or Brock.
The saying "slow and steady wins the race" was perfectly illustrated here.
It wasn't until Jason fully opened the door and had a clear view of the room that he realized that there was nobody inside.
This however, didn't mean that there was no one inside.
Rather that the armed individual inside, having been startled awake by the suppressed gunshots earlier, couldn't accurately determine where the intruders were in the pitch-black room.In order to avoid revealing his position, he had cleverly chosen to hide and wait.
Hiding behind a wooden cabinet against the left wall, he intended to wait for Jason, who was opening the door, to fully enter the room, hoping to see at least a shadow first before firing.
This armed individual had a good idea and could be considered clever.
Unfortunately for him, he wasn’t very well-read!
He didn't know that there existed a type of goggles that could see him clearly in the dark, like a magic mirror that revealed everything.
He couldn't see where Jason was, while in Jason's green-tinted vision, he stood out like a beacon in the darkness.
With a weapon in hand and intent to attack, Jason raised his hand without hesitation and fired twice.
Just as Jason shot and killed the armed individual inside the room, an armed man suddenly ran up from the first floor towards the stairs Long Zhan was guarding.
It seemed he had come up thinking the second floor was safe while Bravo Team was busy clearing the rooms.
He was unaware however, that the “Grim Reaper” was awaiting him on the second floor.
Pop~Pop~Pop~
The Mk46 light machine gun fired, as three quick shots, guided by the laser’s trajectory, accurately struck the armed man running up the stairs.
The hit armed man died instantly, his body swaying before falling back down from the second floor.
The corpse hit the wooden staircase a few times on its way down, producing a series of thuds as it rolled down to the first floor.
