Checking the equipment took more than 20 minutes, but fortunately, Long Zhan and Clay arrived half an hour early, so there was still some time to spare.Additionally, they had earned some extra goodwill through their sweet talk.
When Long Zhan asked Davis to change his main weapon and specified that he needed an upgraded version of the M249, Davis did not refuse just because this type of gun was less common and harder to find on short notice. Instead, she chose to help this sweet-talking big guy.
Not long after Davis drove back to the base, the official members of Bravo Team began to arrive one after another.
The first to arrive was Bravo 4, Trent Sawyer, the team's medic and breacher.
Although Trent was not one of the main supporting characters and had little screen time in the TV show, Long Zhan had a very deep impression of him.
The reason was that this guy was a real special forces soldier, and he was a member of the renowned Delta Force.
He was practically portraying himself in the show!
The second to arrive was Bravo 5, Brock Reynolds, whose specialty was dog training. His combat role was reconnaissance, accompanied by his military dog named Hellhound.
His reconnaissance method involved holding a laptop and commanding the military dog equipped with a camera and a speaker to search designated areas based on his remote commands.
Both Brock and Trent were quite arrogant and did not greet Long Zhan or Clay. They passed right on by, headed straight for the equipment area to check their personal equipment.
“Hey, big guy, want some spicy chicken? It’ll make your day better.”
The third to arrive at the assembly point was Sonny, who immediately greeted Long Zhan and enthusiastically shared the breakfast he brought.
“It tastes great! If you weren’t a special forces soldier, you’d definitely make a great gourmet.”
Long Zhan appreciated Sonny's straightforwardness and his violent yet restrained personality. He grabbed a piece of chicken and started chatting with him.
“From the Quinn family, Sonny here accepts your compliment. I like the title of gourmet.”Sonny indirectly introduced himself., a gesture signaling that Sonny, the violent demolition expert and machine gunner, had acknowledged Long Zhan. Something that came as a pretty big surprise, considering that Sonny was the well-known “Powder Keg” in the group, a nickname he’d earned due to his explosive temper.
On second thought however, the two actually had a lot of things in common, and as the saying went, birds of a feather flock together.
“Hey, good morning, Sonny! What’s got you so happy?”
At this moment, Jason drove up, with Davis sitting in the passenger seat of his car, having gone back to get a gun at Long Zhan's personal request.
“Long, welcome to the team.”
As Jason got out of the car, he greeted Long Zhan.
“Spicy chicken, it’ll make your day better! Want a piece?”
Sonny, akin to a salesman in marketing, started promoting his spicy chicken to Jason, and then noticed Davis sitting in the passenger seat.
He leaned over with a grin and asked, “Spicy chicken, my favorite delicacy! Want to try it?”
Davis was well aware of the bachelor’s feelings, but she just wasn’t into him. She jumped out of the car and said helplessly, “Aren’t you going to check the equipment?”
“Lisa, I’ve always thought you were the best logistics sergeant in the world. I don’t even need to check the equipment you prepare,” Sonny flattered.
“As long as you like it.”
Davis shrugged and smiled, then said to Long Zhan, who was just finishing his greeting with Jason, “The machine gun you wanted is in the back of the car, go grab it. I hope you like it.”
“Thank you very much.”
Long Zhan thanked her and walked to the back of the car, instantly captivated by the gun lying there.
Due to the time constraints, Davis couldn’t reconfigure a new one, so she directly took a model identical to Sonny’s, a MK46 Mod 1 light machine gun!
Equipped with an Eotech Exps3 holographic sight, an Eotech G33 flip-up 3x scope, a PEQ-15 laser designator with a vertical grip and a bipod, a SOCOM 556-MG suppressor, a more portable 100-round drum, and a folding stock more suitable for indoor combat.
This modified MK46 was impressive in both appearance and functionality.
Long Zhan picked up the gun from the back seat and cradled it in his arms, lovingly stroking it as if he were caressing an unparalleled beauty.
No!
He was even more infatuated with the gun than with a beautiful woman.
A beautiful woman couldn’t keep him alive on the battlefield, but this modified MK46 could.
Seeing that the gun Long Zhan specifically requested was the same as his own, Sonny, as a fellow heavy weapon enthusiast himself, liked him even more.In a great mood, based on his understanding of these accessories and his familiarity with them, Sonny took the initiative to pull Long Zhan in and give him some tips.
He shared his years of combat experience and skills with this gun as Bravo Team’s machine gunner.
As a professional machine gunner, Long Zhan knew this was a rare and valuable opportunity.
He seized the time to humbly ask questions, eagerly absorbing Sonny’s experience to further improve his machine gun skills.
Seeing the two getting along so well, Jason and Davis exchanged smiles and didn’t interrupt, walking together into the cabin.
There was still quite a bit of work to do between the team leader and the logistics sergeant.
The last to arrive was Bravo 2, Ray Perry, who showed up just 5 minutes before takeoff.
However, Jason had no complaints.
He knew Ray’s wife was about to give birth, and at this critical moment, couples tend to be the most clingy, often wishing they could spend 24 hours a day together.
...
The C17 took off from Florida, crossing the Atlantic Ocean in order to reach the African continent, which took a long time.
After takeoff, everyone began to get busy. Intelligence officer Mandy and commander Eric needed to maintain constant contact with all parties, keeping an eye on the movements of the operation's target.
The makeshift command post set up in the middle of the cabin became their sole area of activity.
Jason, Ray, and the other five official members of Bravo Team all started checking and organizing their personal gear to ensure they could spring into action as soon as they landed.
Long Zhan and Clay, who had finished checking their personal equipment early, ended up being the most idle people in the cabin.
With nothing better to do, they could only gather and chat.
“I want to add a hammock here. When I was in SEAL Team Two, every time I sat on the C17, I had a spot for my hammock.”
Clay gestured with excitement, fantasizing about life in Bravo Team.
“A hammock? Clay, you’re aiming too low.”
Long Zhan found it very amusing, he pulled out a chocolate bar to replenish his energy, and joked while eating, “If it were me, I’d want a space right in the middle of the cabin.
“I’d set up a two-meter-wide big bed, lay down a blanket, and cover myself with a quilt to sleep. Why a quilt, you ask?
“It’s too cold at high altitudes, I’m afraid I’ll catch a cold.”
In the original plot, Clay’s ridiculous desire to add a hammock almost annoyed Davis, who was responsible for logistics, to the point of threatening to throw him off the plane.
Long Zhan remembered this part vividly, so his words were both teasing him and warning him.
He advised Clay to stop daydreaming!
