The evening class, a course called "The El Sung Way of Management," ended, and it was 8:40 PM.

Innovation, culture, leadership, and change.

Lectures on those topics.

It was a meaningful course in its own right, but everyone was starting to get tired from the training schedule that began early in the morning.

After finishing the class and returning to his dorm, Taeseok finished his still-incomplete report and let out a sigh.

‘The schedule is incredibly tight. Seriously.’

Still, it was a relief that people were being cooperative.

After 9 PM, his peers started coming one by one to submit their reports.

“This is from Room B1.”

“Yes. Thank you. Could you check this and sign here, please?”

“Oh, you even made something like this.”

“Yes. I wanted to be thorough.”

“Room B25. Can I submit this now?”

“Yes. Please sign here as well.”

Given a 30-minute deadline, people followed the instructions well.

Most of them visited Taeseok’s room within the designated time to submit their reports.

Of course, not everyone had submitted.

But Taeseok had planned for that.

He had created a list from Room B1 to B50 in advance and had people sign upon submission, so he could tell who hadn't turned theirs in without having to check the reports themselves.

Perhaps because of that?

The verification process took a mere 15 seconds, and all Taeseok had left to do was send a reminder text to those who hadn't submitted yet.

Just then, the five volunteers he had recruited before the class arrived at his room.

“Excuse me! We’re all here.”

Taeseok, who didn't waste a single second, stood before them and got straight to the point.

“The El Sung Gymnastics is divided into a total of 14 movements. I’m going to demonstrate each of them, one by one.”

“Do we really have to do this in advance? We’re going to learn it tomorrow anyway.”

“Well, if we learn it before the Instructor teaches us, it’ll be less stressful, and this is graded on a curve by teams, right? If even a few of us can follow along well, the Instructor will view us positively. And if any of our peers struggle, those of you who've learned it in advance can help them out. Please just invest 20 minutes. I know you must be very tired, and I’m truly sorry.”

“It’s no problem. Alright, let’s do as Taeseok says, learn for 20 minutes, and then hurry up, wash, and sleep.”

“Let’s do it~”

It didn't even take 20 minutes to teach them the gymnastic movements one by one.

Of course, he didn't think all five of them had mastered it.

But he had another way to compensate for that.

“Excuse me, did you finish recording?”

“Yes.”

“I’ll post that in our group chat of five for now. Oh! And I’d like for everyone here to stick with me and volunteer until the end. If you stay with me, I’ll distribute the points we receive evenly. So, let’s not doubt each other and do our best.”

When Taeseok brought up the sensitive topic of points first, everyone nodded.

In truth, most of the people here had a strong desire to get into their preferred departments.

To do so, they needed something to set them apart from the other new hires. While test scores and making a good impression on the Guiding Senior were important, no one was unaware that the 20 bonus points given to autonomous work leaders would play a huge role.

That was why they were willing to step up and sacrifice for their peers and their team while others were resting and enjoying their personal time.

Taeseok had a thought.

‘If these five who had voluntarily raised their hands were by his side, other tasks would also proceed smoothly.’

And he was right.

The five men who had volunteered respected Taeseok’s way of thinking.

He communicated only what was necessary, shared his thoughts with them, and discussed and decided how to proceed.

And there was no fluff in his judgment.

So who would ignore Taeseok, and who would dislike him?

In reality, while Taeseok might have been far from a model student, he was extremely sharp when it came to practical work.

From his years of experience on construction sites, he knew how to work most efficiently, quickly, and comfortably.

He had also learned to some extent how to build and sever relationships, and how to guide others to think rationally.

Taeseok created a separate chat room with the five volunteers.

In that room, he uploaded the gymnastics video they had just filmed during their 20-minute practice.

* * *

Ding!

『Kim Tae-seok has uploaded a video.』

And Taeseok’s chat followed.

Kim Tae-seok: For those who don't know the moves, please use this as a reference. I'm looking at the training program guide right now, and it says there are individual scores during the practice session. Let's not make any mistakes tomorrow and do well. Let's go.

As soon as Taeseok posted the practice video, everyone replied.

Kim Hyeonsu: Tae-seok! Thanks for the great info.

Jo Donghyun: Okay! Let's all do well.

Choi Jinyoung: I think our teamwork is pretty good, don't you?

Taeseok grinned. Then he went to the small meeting room to find the Guiding Senior.

“Ah, B Team?”

“Yes. Guiding Senior, everyone has submitted their reports, and I’ve compiled them.”

The reports were sealed inside a document envelope.

“You finished early.”

“Yes. I gave them a heads-up, so it went quickly.”

“I made the right choice making you Team Leader. Things are going smoothly.”

“Thank you.”

But one thing caught Taeseok’s eye.

The broadcast system.

‘Huh?’

“Ah, the broadcast! The technician didn't show up. If the broadcast system was working, it would be a little easier to manage everyone.”

“Just a moment. May I take a look?”

“You know how to fix it?”

“Yes. From what I can see, it looks like the cable that should be in the audio jack is plugged into the mic jack.”

“Really?”

Taeseok swapped the two jacks. Then he turned on the amplifier and tapped the microphone with his finger.

A *thump, thump!* sound came through, and the broadcast system worked properly.

“What! It was that simple?”

“Maybe they plugged it in wrong while cleaning? That’s what it looks like.”

“Aish, I was worried about this for nothing. So your roommate was struggling with this until 1 AM?”

“…”

Taeseok held back a reply to the Guiding Senior’s words.

Speaking ill of others eventually comes back to you.

Did the Guiding Senior realize this too? He casually changed the subject and said to Taeseok.

"Alright. Good work. You must be tired, so go back and get some rest.”

“Not at all. There’s one more thing I need to check. Ah! Here they come.”

Two peers who lived in Room B07 entered.

Taeseok smiled and said.

“You know the duty watch is until 11 PM, right?”

“Yes.”

“One of you, please go down the right hallway and lock the doors. Please also check if all the windows are closed. And the other person, please wait here and fill out the duty log.”

“Yes. Got it. Taeseok, you’re a good Team Leader.”

“You think so?”

“You’re much better than that clumsy guy from yesterday.”

A smile spread across Taeseok’s face at his peers’ compliments.

And the Guiding Seniors felt the same way.

‘He’s sharp. And personable.’

His first impression wasn't bad at all.

There weren't many new employees who were so proactive, efficient, and thorough, but Kim Taeseok fell into that small category.

‘A guy like that would be perfect for sales…’

Deputy Kim Minseong, who was in charge of sales, thought to himself.

He wished a personable guy like that would join his team as a junior…

But he knew well that he wouldn't.

Because at a top-tier company like El Sung, there were countless jobs with better prospects than sales.
