In 20XX, a new artificial intelligence lifeform was born into the world. Called an “AINIMAL,” it is a lifelong partner created uniquely for its owner through DNA analysis.

The protagonist, Kaito, who lost his parents in a fire accident during his childhood, lives in the slums with his AINIMAL, Chili Pepper, and his grandfather Gento, who suffers from a serious illness.

Wanting to earn a large sum of money to have Gento undergo surgery, Kaito decides to enter the AINIMAL battle tournament, “AINIMAL MATCH,” and rushes out of his room.

One powerful enemy after another appears, allies gather around Kaito, his past is gradually revealed, and the power hidden within Chili Pepper, capable of saving the world, comes to light.
